Being Content in All Circumstances

Jason Phillips
Revival Town Ministries
Paul shares in Philippians 4:8-9 the following encouragement:

"Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you."

Through the hardships and blessings, Paul learned the discipline of being content in all circumstances. This Kingdom mindset afforded him a greater ability to see God's perspective in everything, allowing him to walk in peace and rest.

I believe Paul's desire was to see the Church walk in peace in the midst of persecution, trials, and even martyrdom. The days that the early Church lived in were filled with many uncertainties. Every letter that Paul wrote in the Bible has this statement in some form in the first few lines: "Grace to you and peace." I sense that this was not just a traditional statement taking up space, but rather this was a declaration from the Spirit of God. Paul was releasing and imparting peace to the early Church. He wanted to encourage young Timothy, "Do not worry, my son, press on and do not let anyone despise your youth--walk in peace." He shared with Titus, "I left you in Crete to appoint elders, yes, you will have opposition but I impart to you grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior."
Just as Paul prayed and released peace to the early Church, the Lord Jesus prayed for His disciples to walk in peace in John 16. I sense the Spirit of the Lord is praying for you to enter into His peace today. As many of you are touched by the Prince of Peace, stress, fear, and worry will begin to melt from your body. The Lord desires for you to be a carrier of His peace--that so much of His peace would be upon you, that literally atmospheres would change as you and Jesus enter a room.
The Lord is giving you a fresh invitation to dance with Him in the rivers of peace. Won't you take His hand today as He leads you along this amazing journey? Your life and many others will be changed forever.

Finally, Numbers 6:24-26 "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace."

Part 2  Evangelism
When will the church come out of the four WALLS? The gays have came out of the closet, the rappers and their filthy music have came out of the closet and they play their filthy music right in our face and we walk by them like it’s nothing shaking our head instead of giving them a track or witness to them. “We see the violence, gangs, fighting, killing and the drug pushing now on our streets, but wait until the next two generations the children of this generation will shoot you down and think nothing of it, say a fellow believer.” Why?  Because we have refused to carried out our assignment Laws have been passed to take God out of our school, they are trying to take Him our of our holidays and we expect change for the better for our society, I don’t think so.

Every man in the chain of command has his objective assigned to him by higher authority and that authority is Jesus Christ our Commander-in-Chief. He has assigned the overall objective and put it in the grasp of every one of His followers the directive for accomplishing the Great Commission.  The directive is:  Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations."
To any individual Christian who thinks he is fighting the war all by himself, this objective not only seems unrealistic but impossible. We must work together to complete the Great Commission.  Your little with my little will make a big difference.
God has raised up specialists with limited objectives in His church to get the job done. Are you one of them.Jesus said, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the WILL of my Father which is in heaven, Mat 7: 21.  We as the body of Christ are doing many things, which are good, but are we doing the things that is required and that are a priority of God’s heart? Souls are God’s priority.  We only have one change to pass thought this life to receive Christ as saviour. There is no second change after death to come to Christ. There are no in between. There is no reincarnation, but a resurrection either to life eternal with Christ and Eternally separated from Christ. You chose.

Steps to  making godly decisions

1. Have you sought the Lord  about it?
The Lord promises to give leadership and  direction to our life. Consult Him in prayer. Remember, God will never speak something to  our heart that contradicts his written Word. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And  He shall direct your paths” (Prov. 3:6). “There are many plans in a man’s  heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel; that will stand” (Prov. 19:21).

2. Have you sought Godly  counsel or advice?
Ask the advice of those who live Godly lives and  have a track record of experience and wise decision making. Avoid the counsel of those  whose Christian life is questionable or who have experience of failure in making sound  decisions. “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of  counselors there is safety” (Prov. 11:14). “Blessed is the man Who walks not in  the counsel of the ungodly...” (Psa. 1:1).

3. Would it serve the right  master?
Will your decision require you to yield to the  demands of someone or something other than Christ? Will it cause you to compromise your  submission and obedience to Jesus? “No one can serve two masters; for either he will  hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the  other. You cannot serve God and mammon” (Matt. 6:24).

4. Would His indwelling  presence agree with it?
Would your decision bring peace to your inner  man, or would it create discomfort or distress? Is your choice directed by the promptings  and leading of the Holy Spirit, or by the appetites of the flesh? “However, when He,  the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth...” (John 16:13).  “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the  flesh” (Gal. 5:16).

5. What would the  consequences be?
What kind of long-term ramifications would you  have to face for your decision? Remember, God will forgive sin and poor judgment, but you  may have to live with the results of your decision for the rest of your life. “Do not  be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap”  (Gal. 6:7).
